Court Painter is very disturbed at the quick settlement between Fox News and Dominion Voting Systems. Court Painter, Press Attache AHM and accompanying unpaid studio interns had set up shop outside the court to capture the guilty countenances of Rupert Murdoch, Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity. Seems these pinocchio grifters can just go on their merry millionaire ways as Court Painter misses huge portrait and fridge magnet sales opportunities . Meanwhile democratic justice was also denied a further opportunity to place Fox and it’s fabulist enablers under intense scrutiny on the stand .
The settlement between Fox News and Dominion Voting Systems totals $787,500,000, according to Dominion attorney Justin Nelson.
The settlement represents “vindication and accountability,” Nelson said in a news conference Tuesday afternoon.
“Lies have consequences,” Nelson said.
“Over two years ago, a torrent of lies swept Dominion and election officials across America into an alternative universe of conspiracy theories, causing grievous harm,” he added.
Court Painter includes some previous images of key characters in this saga which alas are not as fresh as was anticipated!

Pierre Poilievre poses as proud anti woker
The Conservatives have updated their English Language Platform to include the party’s promised crackdown on “woke ideology.”
The “anti-woke” promise intends to “put an end to the imposition of the woke ideology in the federal public service and in the allocation of federal funds for university research.”
But what does he mean by “woke,” exactly? The Conservative leader doesn’t seem keen to define the term.
Last month, the Canadian Association of University Teachers expressed concern about how the Conservative Party’s commitment could impact federal funding for research.
In a recent interview with The Canadian Press, the association’s president Peter McInnis said: “When you get politicians saying they’re going to come in and interfere with this on some basis of, I don’t know, ideological issues or political expediency, that’s the concern.”
McInnis said the word “woke” is now “so vague … that it could mean anything. It just means things that they don’t agree with.”
“You can see the concerted attacks right against a whole slew of American universities by the Trump administration,” he said. “So anything like that happening in Canada would be very destructive.”

The use of the term “woke” in a political context originates with Black activists in the United States in the early- to mid-20th century and used as a term of vigilance, calling for greater public awareness of racial discrimination. The term has been used within Black communities in North America for decades, it gained prominence in the wider public discourse during the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement. In the years following, people started applying the term more broadly to awareness of other social issues, such as sexism, poverty and the challenges facing LGBTQ + people.
Pierre Poilievre and Marjorie Taylor Green are proud members of the Anti Woke FolkClub
Pierre Poilievre the Great Dominion’s aspiring prime minister, leader of the federal Conservative party and devoted anti progressive took to the podium at the local ANTI WOKE FOLK CLUB and was quoted as saying.
“Woke is designed to divide people by race, by gender, by ethnicity, by religion, by vaccine status, and any other way they can divide people into groups. Then you can justify having a government that can control all those groups. We need freedom.”
Pierre Poilievre and many on the political right apply the term woke as a pejorative and are proud Anti Woke Folk Club members.

Pause Giant AI Experiments: An Open Letter
We call on all AI labs to immediately pause for at least 6 months the training of AI systems more powerful than GPT-4.

Powerful AI systems should be developed only once we are confident that their effects will be positive and their risks will be manageable.
AI systems with human-competitive intelligence can pose profound risks to society and humanity, as shown by extensive research[1] and acknowledged by top AI labs.[2] As stated in the widely-endorsed Asilomar AI Principles, Advanced AI could represent a profound change in the history of life on Earth, and should be planned for and managed with commensurate care and resources. Unfortunately, this level of planning and management is not happening, even though recent months have seen AI labs locked in an out-of-control race to develop and deploy ever more powerful digital minds that no one – not even their creators – can understand, predict, or reliably control.

OTTAWA — The Opposition Conservatives are asking Twitter to apply a “government-funded” label on accounts associated with the CBC, even as other broadcasters decry the tag for not making clear their editorial independence.
On Tuesday, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre tweeted a copy of a letter addressed to the company making the request.
In the letter, Poilievre asked that the label be applied to CBC’s English “news-related” accounts. But he did not mention Radio-Canada, the broadcaster’s French-language arm.
The social-media giant currently defines “government-funded” media as outlets that “may have varying degrees of government involvement over editorial content.”
Poilievre said he believes that applies to CBC.
But CBC said in a statement on Wednesday that is “clearly not the case,” adding that it cannot comment on the motives behind Poilievre’s letter.
“As every Canadian knows, CBC/Radio-Canada is publicly funded. Its editorial independence is protected in law in the Broadcasting Act,” a spokesperson for the broadcaster said.
The office of Heritage Minister Pablo Rodriguez said the way the broadcaster’s public funding works, members of Parliament only vote on the sum of money it receives — they don’t guide its editorial decisions.
“It is an independent, arms-length Crown corporation,” said Laura Scaffidi, Rodriguez’s press secretary.
She called Poilievre’s comments an “attack on journalists.”
Other media outlets have raised concerns about the difference between phrases such as “government-funded” and “publicly funded” and what each implies.
Court Painter lacks the energy at this point to offer up portraits of all the archetype-types described in author Olivia Nuzzi’s terrific description so he will just leave you with studio images of canvases in a blank state of anticipation…whatever…
Too much has happened too quickly involving too many people crammed into too small a universe. The same stars from reality television are the stars of our politics and our politicians are TV personalities and they all know one another and nobody ever goes away and the character arcs get crossed and tangled and sometimes it’s hard to keep it all straight.
The first Eastern European wife of the future president gave way to the southern actress who became the Dancing With the Stars contestant, as the second Eastern European and third-to-date wife then became the First Lady. The cast of Russians from the Mueller probe gave way to the cast of Ukrainians from the first impeachment. The press secretary competed on Dancing With the Stars, as did the guy in charge of the Department of Energy, who was also a guy from the last Republican primary before the one that nominated the host of The Apprentice. The great villain of the first season of The Apprentice who worked for Al Gore landed in the White House again working for the former Apprentice host and played to type, making secret recordings before getting the ax and releasing a tell-all book. A Celebrity Apprentice contestant became friendly with North Korea’s dictator, which helped pave the way for a summit where the president blew up precedent with Elton John references designed either to prove his madman theory of diplomacy or to provoke a homicidal lunatic into nuclear war. The Playboy model was followed by the porn star, and the porn star was promised a role on The Celebrity Apprentice. The war erupted between the other homicidal dictator and the other TV-star president of another country, who was in fact a central figure in the first impeachment.
And that is only a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of the far-out shit that went on a fraction of the time, and that’s just the shit we know about.
Alberta Premier Danielle Smith is offering up a new version of why she engaged in a controversial phone call with a Calgary street pastor in which they discuss his upcoming criminal case related to COVID-19 public health measures.
Smith told her Saturday morning phone-in radio show she took the call from Art Pawlowski because she thought it was going to be in the context of his role as the leader of another political party, the Alberta Independence Party.
Court Painter captured the surprise & disappointment on the Premiers face upon hearing she did not have pardon power like American politicians.
She says when the discussion veered into Pawlowski’s court case, she says she simply reminded him that she had tried to gain amnesty for COVID accused but was told by justice officials the cases must play out independently.
Legal experts say the call was a clear violation of the firewall between politicians and the justice system, noting Smith is heard sharing internal details of Crown case strategy, promising to make inquiries on Pawlowski’s behalf and reporting back to him while also telling him the charges against him were politically motivated.

Court Painter in a burst of enthusiastic self interest has hired the same management consultant firm that recommended a 55% compensation increase for Loblaws CEO Galen Weston in 2022.
Court Painter with recent portrait of his new fan Galen
Court Painter went on to say at the top of his voice,”I’m fed up and won’t take it anymore…oops let me rephrase that…I’m fed up and will take…demand more!”, while also announcing his new hire!
Galen Weston got a 55 per cent raise for running Loblaws last year, after management consultants hired by the company his family controls determined he was underpaid. ( Court Painter hurriedly called Galen to find out who the consultant firm was…!)
Regulatory filings for Loblaw Cos Ltd. show that Weston, the scion of one of Canada’s richest families, took in just over $8.4 million in salary, bonuses and stock-based compensation last year as CEO of Loblaws, the grocery chain his family controls.
That was a 55 per cent increase from the just over $5.4 million in total compensation he got in 2021, the year he became president of the company in March. The year before, in 2020, Weston earned $3,549,591 in total compensation from Loblaws.
Ian Lee, an associate professor and free market blowhard of the Sprott School of Business at Carleton University in Ottawa , says that focus on executive compensation is misguided, because it is subject to the same rules of supply and demand that govern any market.
“Whether it’s entertainers, musicians, athletes, artist celebrities like Court Painter or CEOs, there is a supply and a demand, and you pay the market price or you lose them,” he told CBC News in an interview.
Following up on the professor’s words, Court Painter dangled the threat that unless a new compensation package was accepted by his studio he would time travel back to the 17th century when Court Painters were held in high esteem, lived high off the hog and were constantly high!
