SNAP! one of these days….

Great Dominion voters can expect to head to the polls for a SNAP federal election one of these days!

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is planning to visit Rideau Hall sometime to ask that Parliament be dissolved, said sources with knowledge of his plans who spoke to Court Painter on the condition they not be named.

The sources said the prime minister is then expected to announce a 36-day campaign — the minimum campaign length permitted by law — meaning voting day is predicted to be in the future.

News of the pending SNAP election call has been reported already by Reuters , La Presse and Court Painter.

Dissolution of Parliament is not automatic and Gov. Gen. Mary Simon could say no — although that would be a rare move out of line with parliamentary tradition.

PM Trudeau practices finger snapping!

An online petition, launched by non-profit organization Democracy Watch and sent to Gov.Gen. Mary Simon, comes as rumours swirl that a SNAP election call is around the corner!

“A SNAP election will be dangerous for many voters. A fourth wave of COVID 19 is expected across Canada this fall, more contagious than ever, as many people are still not fully vaccinated,” Democracy Watch said in a news release. “Voters who are vulnerable to COVID-19 will, completely justifiably, feel hesitant about going to a polling station to vote.”

The organization also argues that a SNAP election is “illegal, dishonest, and unfair” for many voters.

Court Painter anticipates a SNAP election!

OPEN LETTER

to the Council of the Canadian Historical Association and the Canadian public

We write to express our grave disappointment with the Canadian Historical Association’s “Canada Day Statement”. The Council of the CHA claims that “the existing historical scholarship” makes it “abundantly clear” that Canada’s treatment of Indigenous peoples was genocidal and that there was “broad scholarly consensus” as to the evidence of “genocidal intent.” The CHA Council also attacks the profession in stating that historians have turned a blind eye to the tragedies that have marked Canadian history.

BEG TO DIFFER: Comments & Definitions

Now many of us are not historians & scholars however with general and in some cases specific & experiential knowledge of the purposeful and institutionally backed church & state efforts to contain and remove indigenous reality from the face of the Great Dominion…one could argue by definition if it walks like cultural genocide, talks like cultural genocide, & acts like cultural genocide …it must be cultural genocide.

The international legal definition of the crime of genocide is found in Articles II and III of the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Genocide.(excerpt)

Minister responsible for nonsense…

Court Painter & recent portait of Minister Responsible for Nonsense

The minister responsible for Canada’s role in fighting climate change is defending his government’s purchase of the Trans Mountain pipeline after a landmark UN report said the continued use of fossil fuels is pushing the climate toward catastrophe.

Minister of Environment and Climate Change Jonathan Wilkinson said today that revenue generated by the project will help Canada achieve its long-term climate objectives.

Wilkinson reaffirmed Canada’s commitment to phasing out fossil fuels and achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050, but said achieving that target will require money generated by fossil fuels.

Family album…

Requested by Court Painter:

Would you please publish the statement below.

Recently my manager AHM, who is usually ever vigilant with fact checking, made a major error. In the item below he suggests that the Court Painter is pro Trump and his gang. Nothing could be farther from the truth, and you are hearing it from the horse’s mouth. It is true that I have been privy to private sessions with the individuals in question, but it was done only with the intent of transferring some of their ill-gotten financial holdings from their pockets to my manager’s.  During these sessions I had a hard time from throwing up but persevered while my manager sat in the adjacent room eating Kentucky Friend Chicken. It is true that the ladies that hung around D and his male relatives were attracted to me but at no time did I choose to take advantage of their lusts as has so often been implied by my overzealous manager. I have informed my manager of my concern and docked his pay a bit and he has assured me that such attempts at humor will be avoided in the future.

Sincerely

The Court Painter

There’s not really much to say other than Court Painter is very grateful for this family providing such intimate access to their way of life and personal interests.

Hold that date…

ELECTION 2021

Be ready for it: some senior Liberals expect to kick off federal election campaign on this date or that date

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, pictured whispering the election date to his trusted confident , Court Painter. Mr. Trudeau is expected to issue the writs for an election sometime.

With politicos across the country caught in election fever, Liberal MPs, candidates, and campaign managers are preparing for an election campaign to get started sometime with the election date set to be this date or that date.

“Be ready for the writ to be dropped on a date is the message I’m getting from cabinet ministers and MPs,” said one Liberal source who spoke to The Hill Times  from a telephone booth somewhere not too far way. Others are saying the election will likely be called on another date. Liberal sources said that if the writs are issued on this date, the election date would be this, and if the start date is that date, the election day will be that date. They expect the writ period to be 36 days long from the this or that date.

Court Painter is just bursting at the seams to make an announcement on either this date or that date.

Rollin’ the dice…

Dr Hinshaw & Premier Kenney rollin’ the dice!

The TYEE July 29,2021
At the first COVID-19 news conference in almost a month, and quite possibly the last one ever, chief medical officer of health Dr. Deena Hinshaw  let Albertans know yesterday that they and their still-unvaccinated children will basically be on their own when it comes to the virus’s rapidly spreading Delta variant.

With Delta-dominated post-Calgary-Stampede COVID-19 rates surging and more than 1.5 million Albertans including all children under 12 still unvaccinated, Dr. Hinshaw announced that in less than three weeks Albertans who test positive for COVID-19 will no longer be required to go into isolation, or seemingly do anything else.

At that point, Alberta will probably be the only jurisdiction in the world where such a state of affairs exists, at least officially. So if COVID-infected Albertans want to go to a bar, hang out in restaurants, sing in church, or attend musical concerts, there’s nothing to stop them. They can fill their boots!

CBC News:July 29/21

The province announced Wednesday that Alberta will soon have no mandatory COVID-19 protocols: no more mandatory masking, contact tracing or isolating. It’s part of a move to treat the coronavirus more like other respiratory viruses.

Starting Thursday, anyone with COVID-19 symptoms or a positive test result must isolate, but quarantine for their close contacts will be recommended and not mandatory.

On Aug. 16, isolation following a positive test will no longer be required but “strongly recommended,” and by the end of August, testing will be scaled back to only those with severe symptoms.

Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi said that lifting the remaining health orders in Alberta was “the height of insanity.”

what would Jesus do?…

CBC NEWS July 29,2021

The Roman Catholic Church spent millions of dollars that were supposed to go to residential school survivors on lawyers, administration, a private fundraising company and unapproved loans, according to documents obtained by CBC News.

The documents include a host of other revelations. They appear to contradict the Catholic Church’s public claims about money paid to survivors.

“There are also a large number of serious accounting discrepancies that are alarming to Canada,” states one document, a 53-page federal government “factum” summarizing the evidence in a 2015 court matter.

None of the other churches involved in the landmark Indian Residential Schools Settlement Agreement of 2005 — Anglican, United and Presbyterian — engaged in any of these practices. They all paid the full amounts agreed to years ago without incident.

neo Nazi garb anyone?…

Court Painter innocently glancing at a CBC website page Monday morning spotted an advertisement directing the viewer to what appears to be Neo Nazi garb for sale on WAYRATES.

The Iron Cross and Iron Eagle ,two obvious symbols from the WW2 Nazi era are prominent on the shirt and pants in addition to striped colour bands of black ,white and red; Nazi colours. One can assume the manufactured dirt staining on the garb is meant to appeal to the rough and tumble white supremacist buyers.

Raises question of how does a WAYRATES advertisement selling Neo Nazi garb appear on a public broadcasting website page?

The Iron Eagle, former symbol of Hitler’s Third Reich, is commonly used by neo-Nazi groups today to represent power and strength to the movement. The Iron Eagle is a patch typically earned by committing an act of violence. As modern German law prohibits the production of items containing Nazi insignia, the West German government authorized replacement Iron Crosses in 1957 with a trifoliate Oak Leaf Cluster in place of the swastika.
