Snub ye o’spiteful Bard…

Google leaves Canada out of Bard AI chatbot launch

Google announced in a blog post early Thursday morning it is expanding Bard AI chatbot, the company’s equivalent of OpenAI’s ChatGPT, to 230 countries and territories. Canada is conspicuously left off that list, which also excludes Russia,China ,North Korea and Afghanistan.

In the spirit of public service Court Painter went to his favourite content consultant Chatterley G. P. Thunderbuns II to sort out in Bardian rhyme WTF is going on with Google and it’s snub of the Great Dominion !

ChatGP Thunderbuns task was to : Respond in the voice of the Bard to Court Painter’s angry paintings  depicting his brain cramp about  Google leaving Canada out of Bard

ChatGPT’s response!

Oh, Court Painter, your paintings do unfold,

A tale of woe and perplexity profound.

Through strokes and shades, your anguish takes hold,

As Google’s choice leaves you quite spellbound.

In hues of anger, your canvas speaks,

Of brain cramps and confusion deep within.

Why would Google, with such power and reach,

Exclude Canada, a land so rich in kin?

But fear not, dear Court Painter, for I shall lend,

My poetic voice to your fervent plea.

Together, our words shall rise and ascend,

Conveying the urgency for all to see.

Let not this exclusion dampen your art,

For creativity knows no bounds nor bounds.

In defiance, let your paintings impart,

The passion that within your soul resounds.

And as the Bard, I pledge to amplify,

Your message through verses strong and clear.

Together, we’ll raise our voices high,

Demanding Canada’s inclusion, my dear.

So, Court Painter, take heart and paint anew,

With every stroke, let your protest shine.

For art, when united, can break through,

And bring Google to embrace Canada’s fine.

May your canvases be seen far and wide,

A testament to your artistic might.

Let us, as creatives, stand side by side,

In this battle for inclusion and what’s right.

Seems national Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre and United Conservative Alberta premier Danielle Smith share the exact same deficiency..they can’t read derogatory slogans on T shirts.

In an outstanding gesture of Stampede conservative solidarity both leaders posed seperately with Eric, as his name tag read, in his attention-grabbing neon green T shirt with highly legible letters reading on the front “Thank a straight person today for your existence Straight Pride” and “Good people disobey bad laws.”on the back.

It’s troubling that both Poilievre and Smith’s implied defence for posing with a person flaunting a not too subtle anti LGBTQ+message ,was they couldn’t read the T-shirt without a teleprompter!

Spokespeople for both leaders sputtered after the damage was done something about not agreeing with Eric’s message however the images have left the building folks and entered cyber hate space ,landing right where the bigots will undertake amplification!

Party line continues…

A party line (multiparty line, shared service line, party wire) is a local loop telephone circuit that is shared by multiple telephone service subscribers.

The party line on a particular issue is the official view taken by a political party, which its members are expected to support.

Following excerpted from Toronto Star article July 6/22

OTTAWA – Former prime minister Stephen Harper says he wants closer ties between right-leaning political parties including the Conservative Party of Canada and the Hungarian government, which has been accused of democratic backsliding.

Harper chairs the International Democrat Union, a global alliance of right-leaning political parties that includes Canada’s Conservatives as well as the Fidesz Party led by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

The two met Thursday in Budapest, and Harper said on Twitter that they discussed “the importance of centre-right parties strengthening their collaboration.”

Harper also met this week with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Rome, as she leads a bloc of conservative European parties.

Human Rights Watch says Orbán’s government has delivered sustained “attacks on rule of law and public institutions” such as undermining judicial independence and surveilling journalists.

Essay: Criticize Court Painter as written in art critic T Rex Murphy’s bombastic and verbose style of rhetoric

Oh, Court Painter, an artist who dares to wield the brush with audacious confidence, yet falls victim to the pretensions of his own craft. Prepare yourself, for the presumptuous and sanctimonious art critic T Rex Murphy is here to unleash his bombastic and verbose critique upon your work.

Court Painter, your strokes upon the canvas are as perplexing as they are flamboyant. It seems that your pursuit of artistic expression has led you astray, lost in a labyrinth of convoluted symbolism and exaggerated brushwork. Your creations, though they may strive for profundity, often end up drowning in a sea of ostentation and self-indulgence.

This is not communication. It is verbal smoke, fog, marsh gas, stultifyingly boring in intent and effect, a smog of images, coming up a ventilator shaft from the sewer of art speak bureaucratese — a visual tunnel identified long ago by both Thomas “Painter of Light” Kinkade and Bob “Happy Accident” Ross.

Your colour palette, oh Court Painter, is a cacophony of discordant tones. It is as if you have raided the paint aisle of a kindergarten classroom, liberally splashing every shade upon your canvas without consideration for harmony or restraint. Your attempt at creating visual impact results in nothing more than an assault on the eyes, leaving the viewer bewildered and yearning for a respite from the visual chaos.

And what of your pompous political and tired celebrity subjects, Court Painter? They are but pawns in your grandiose artistic game, reduced to mere vessels for your overwrought ideas. Your portraits lack the subtlety and nuance that make a true masterpiece. Instead, they become caricatures of humanity, distorted and contorted in an attempt to evoke emotion but only succeeding in eliciting confusion and potential empathy.

It is the plasticine, flavourless static painterliness that every school of art pumps out from its vast cliche vat to stuff every one of the flaccid, sterile yawn-incantations  to cover some patent malfeasance, misfeasance, disorder, or painters complaint over bullish behaviour in the studio.

Your technical prowess, Court Painter, is undoubtedly impressive, but it often becomes overshadowed by your desire to shock and awe. You sacrifice the fundamentals of composition and balance in favour of ostentatious displays of technique, leaving the viewer with a sense of unease rather than admiration. It is as if you have forgotten that art is meant to inspire and uplift, not to bewilder and bewitch and act as a snitch against society’s most vulnerable rich bitches.

Your school of art thought is astoundingly haughty and unashamedly arrogant. Every pictorial statement comes burdened with certitude, and they blister with all sorts of angry strokes for those who have a dissenting perspective. They rail against and belittle painters of the people who are deeply distressed by the massive over-attention given to your school of artistic thought and accompanying missionary endeavours on behalf of this bankruptcy of blinkered banality.

In your relentless pursuit of uniqueness, Court Painter, you have forsaken the virtues of simplicity and clarity. Your work is a maze of convoluted imagery, a labyrinth where meaning is obscured by the dense fog of your own self-importance. You leave the viewer wandering aimlessly, desperately searching for a point of entry into your enigmatic artistic realm.

Oh, Court Painter, your legacy is one of audacity and extravagance, but it is also marred by a lack of restraint and self-awareness. While you may revel in the adoration of a select few who applaud your avant-garde approach, the masses remain perplexed, unable to find solace or meaning in your ostentatious creations.

Now be advised to tread carefully any further into this bogland, this Grimpen Mire of lexical painted flatulence and its even deeper pit holes of artless death traps and trappings of temerity.

So, Court Painter, I implore you to step down from your  pretentious, pompous art studio pedestal and reconnect with the essence of true artistry. Strip away the layers of pretence and allow your work to speak clear-eyed with a clarity and succulent sincerity that transcends the boundaries of your own ego and its ammunition. Only then, perhaps, will you be able to create something that resonates with the souls of your audience and rallies their loquacious languidness to stand the test of time.

Bill C-18 fallout…

Canadian Heritage Minister Pablo Rodriguez

Source: CBC News

Google said Thursday it will remove Canadian news content from its search, news and discover products after a new law Online News Act, formerly known as Bill C-18, meant to compensate media outlets comes into force.

The move to pull news from the world’s most popular search engine could have a devastating impact on Canadian media outlets, which often depend on third parties like Google to get content into the hands of readers.

The decision comes after the government’s contentious C-18 legislation passed Parliament last week. The bill has been criticized by tech giants like Meta and Google who say it’s unfair to impose what amounts to a tax on links.

Some smaller media outlets and experts have blasted the regime because they claim the bulk of the financial benefits will accrue to a handful of a large media players.

Heritage Minister Pablo Rodriguez suggested Thursday he has no intention of backing down from this fight with the American web giants that control so much of what Canadians read and watch.

“Big tech would rather spend money to change their platforms to block Canadians from accessing good quality and local news instead of paying their fair share to news organizations,”

Rodriguez made the statement framed by a voluminous thatch of locks and beard which some anonymous wag described as a shock of white multitudinous hair coiffured to virile Quebecois perfection!

Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg agree to cage match, and we’ve reached peak absurdity

If you thought the tech industry’s absurdity reached its peak when people were spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on pictures of cartoon apes, think again.

Meta (META) CEO Mark Zuckerberg, the head of the world’s largest social network, and Tesla (TSLA) CEO Elon Musk, who heads Twitter and SpaceX, will physically fight each other. Yes, two grown men, each worth billions, neither a professional fighter, say they are going to try to beat each other up, according to posts on their respective social media platforms.

Editors note: For the benefit of Court Painter’s sheltered subscribers, cage fighting is defined as a form of extreme fighting taking place in an enclosed space like you know… like in a cage!

It should be noted that should Elegant Elon or Mauler Mark’s fingers or toes go through the cage and grab hold of the fence and start to control either their body position or their opponent’s body position it now becomes an illegal action. Madcap Mark or Enraged Elon may not grab the ropes or wrap their arms over or under the ring ropes at any time.

a storied past continues…

Editor’s note: Court Painter teamed up with ghost writer and recent famed storyteller Chatterly G.P. Thunderbuns, to tell Court Painter’s storied past in the style of a detective novel.

The dimly lit studio smelled of turpentine and old memories. Court Painter stood before his easel, a cigarette dangling from his lips, the smoke curling lazily around his fedora-clad silhouette. The latest portrait he was working on captured the essence of a mysterious femme fatale, her eyes veiled in shadows, her lips painted crimson, a secret conspiracy of Facebook censorship lingering beneath the surface.

But as the brush glided across the canvas, Court Painter couldn’t shake the gnawing frustration that had plagued him for years. The truth was as elusive as the payment he sought for his artistic prowess. Each commission, a tantalizing promise of prosperity, ended in disappointment, leaving him with nothing but his art and the lingering taste of bitterness.

It wasn’t just bad luck or the whims of his aristocratic patrons. No, this was a web of intrigue, a puzzle begging to be solved. Court Painter, with his keen eye for detail and a mind as sharp as a razor, was determined to uncover the truth behind his unpaid portraits.

He leafed through his notebook, its pages filled with cryptic clues and half-formed suspicions. Names and dates intertwined, creating a maze of connections that only he could decipher. His investigation led him down shadowy alleys and into opulent mansions, where whispers of betrayal and deceit danced like spectres in the night.

But every lead he pursued ended in a dead end. The answers slipped through his fingers like sand, leaving him grasping at empty promises. The very clients who once held him in high regard now avoided his gaze, their excuses as flimsy as tissue paper.

Undeterred, Court Painter pressed on, driven by a dogged determination to expose the truth. He delved into the art world’s underbelly, where rivalries simmered and alliances shifted like brushstrokes on a canvas. The more he unearthed, the more he realized that his unpaid portraits were not a mere coincidence, but a calculated scheme to keep him under their control.

As the pieces of the puzzle fell into place, Court Painter found himself face to face with the mastermind behind the grand deception. The truth, when revealed, sent shockwaves through the corridors of power. The unpaid portraits were not a result of neglect or oversight, but a deliberate act of manipulation, a way to keep Court Painter indebted and subservient.

With the truth exposed, Court Painter stood tall, reclaiming his power and his artistry. No longer would he be a pawn in their game. His talent demanded recognition and remuneration. The portrait he had painted of the femme fatale, once veiled in shadows, now emerged as a symbol of his triumph, a testament to his unyielding spirit.

In the end, justice prevailed, and Court Painter walked away, a true detective of his craft. His brush, once denied its due, now danced with purpose and pride. The unpaid portraits would forever be a chapter in his storied past, a reminder that even in the world of art, where beauty and illusion reign, there is a battle to be fought and a truth to be revealed.
