Prime Minister Mark Carney is hosting the G7 summit in Kananaskis, Alta., from June 15 to 17 in which Canada will welcome leaders of the other liberal democracies that make up the G7: the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan, Italy and the European Union. In addition to the G7 members, the host country can invite other leaders in order to give priority nations a voice at the summit and will include Ukraine, Mexico, India, Australia, South Africa,Brazil and Saudi Arabia.

Court Painter recognizing the importance of the occasion awoke the resident studio scribe Chatterley Grandiose Penelope Thunderstorm (ChatGPT) to pen in rhyming couplets a description of what’s up in Kananaskis Alberta in mid June.

The Summit’s Grand Design
From fifteenth June to seventeenth day,
In Kananaskis shall the leaders stay.
There shall the G7 high council meet,
With Carney poised to chair its urgent seat.
Missions of Peace and Progress
“Three causes great,” quoth he, “our course shall steer—
To guard our homes and keep our borders clear.
We’ll chase the shadows cast by crime’s advance,
And bid all foreign meddling lose its stance.
To nature’s widfires, with flame and storm imbued,
We’ll answer swift with courage firm and shrewd.”
Energy, AI, and Future’s Call
“Next shall we shape a future fair and wide,
Where energy and data safe abide.
Through veins of Earth, those minerals we seek,
Shall make our digital dominion sleek.
With minds on data and intelligence artificial,
We’ll spur new growth both grand and beneficial.”
Partnerships and Prosperity
“And last,” said he, “our northern voice shall call
For bonds ‘twixt nations, strong, substantial, tall.
Let private coffers pour their wealth anew,
To build, employ, and markets bold pursue.
So shall we craft a world where trade runs free—
With jobs of plenty and boundless industry.”
Thus spake from the realm where mount and pine convene,
Urging nations to dream in valleys evergreen.
