chasm…

July 2018 Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives publication Born to Win:Wealth Concentration in Canada since 1999 Author David Macdonald

Conclusion

Wealth in Canada is concentrating at the top, with the wealthiest families controlling vast fortunes. The chasm between those fortunes and the net worth of average Canadians has grown substantially over the past four years. In part this is due to the growing importance of inheritance at the top: in 2016, over half of the 87 wealthiest families were born into that wealth. But wealth concentration is also a product of power and influence, with a disproportionate number of wealthy families having members among the highest-paid CEOs in Canada. As executive compensation rises, so too does disposable income, which can be further invested. Great wealth begets even greater wealth, and extreme levels of inequality.

The Canadian tax system facilitates the perpetuation of intergenerational wealth transfers. It does so by taxing capital gains and certain dividend income at lower rates than employment income. Income from wealth generally comes in the form of dividends and capital gains, meaning that the wealthiest families pay taxes at much lower rates than had that income come from employment. Canada is also the only country in the G7 without an inheritance, estate or gift tax on tremendous family wealth. Instituting an estate tax and eliminating the preferences for capital gains and dividend income could go a long way to curbing the tendency of Canada’s tax system to heighten socially, politically and economically harmful levels of wealth concentration in Canada.

Soft Power…

Rumour has it that CSIS conspired with the Court Painter Enterprise to use paintings to promote  Great Dominion Soft Power During the G7 Summit .

CSIS is reported to have developed something known as the short-leash policy to deal with the irascible and hard to control Court Painter in their covert efforts to further the Great Dominion’s influence through the soft power of his art. This approach also keeps CSIS art operatives at a short remove from the Court Painter and the installation of his works so that the Great Dominion’s leading spy agency could not be linked to any covert governmental bankrolling. In order to fulfill this need, they secretly and without the knowledge of Court Painter, elicited the participation of  Press Attache A Hardon MacKay in organizing special installations to decorate the G7 Summit meetings and photo ops featuring international leaders.

Such activity was funnelled through a new arts agency created by CSIS named the Great Dominion Soft Power Through Art (GDSPTA), which was developed by the spy agency brain trust in Ottawa with AHM as a silent partner.

And no one was the wiser, not even the naive artist himself who was under the illusion his pure talent and force of personality is what placed him on the world stage.

So in merry old England something exciting happened in the art world . A strange but irresistible energy started to crackle across the pond, as Court Painter who had struggled for years in poverty and obscurity suddenly found self-confidence and success.

Please note: The Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) is Canada’s primary national intelligence service. It is responsible for collecting, analysing, reporting and disseminating intelligence on threats to Canada’s national security, and conducting operations, covert and overt, within Canada and abroad like the Court Painter art installations at the 2021 G7 Summit .

Maximum Ass Max…

People’s Party of Canada Leader Maxime Bernier , who is currently on what he has dubbed the “Mad Max Manitoba Tour,” was holding rallies in several rural Manitoba towns starting Friday and was planning to move onto Winnipeg Saturday.

He was arrested Friday afternoon just outside St. Pierre, Man., say Manitoba RCMP.

“Mr. Bernier knew of the health orders and has already received a ticket. The continuation of the offence of violating the current public health orders in Manitoba has resulted in his arrest,” said Manitoba RCMP spokesperson Tara Seel.

Agnotology…

Agnotology

Excerpted From Wikipedia

Agnotology (formerly agnatology) is the study of deliberate, culturally-induced ignorance or doubt, typically to sell a product or win favour, particularly through the publication of inaccurate or misleading scientific data. More generally, the term also highlights the condition where more knowledge of a subject leaves one more uncertain than before.

Active causes of culturally-induced ignorance can include the influence of the media, corporations and governmental agencies, through secrecy and suppression of information document destruction, and selective memory. Another example is climate denial , whereoil companies paid teams of scientists to downplay the effects of climate change. Passive causes include structural information bubbles , including those created by segregation along racial and class lines, that create differential access to information.

Agnotology also focuses on how and why diverse forms of knowledge do not “come to be,” or are ignored or delayed. For example, knowledge about plate tectonics was censored and delayed for at least a decade because some evidence remained classified military information related to undersea warfare.

Agnotology 2.0

Edited

Agnotology has always been present, but it is transforming. Now, the goal is no longer to create ignorance, because there is little to no preoccupation in public media with determining the validity of knowledge.

Under agnotology 2.0, truth becomes a moot point. It is the sensation that counts. Public & social media leaders and influencers create an impact with whichever arguments they can muster based in whatever fictional data they can create.

Against the backdrop of legal wrangling, there is one question on the lips of everyone in the art world: Where are the self portraits “Court Painter Mundi”?

Press Attache to Court Painter, A Hardon MacKay doubts recent reports that they are on Prince bin Salman’s yacht, as was alleged in 2019,” The $450million question:Where is Court Painter’s ‘Court Painter Mundi?”

“To put paintings like this on a yacht, with the sea air, the evaporation plus non stop party time wine & nacho spillage would be utterly stupid. I cannot believe the buyer would put these paintings in a setting like that,” AHM said.”they are on a wood chip board, which can warp in no time,” he said, referring to the composite panel on which the artworks were painted.

Court Painter chimed in and speculated that “it might be that we see them all together one day in the Louvre Abu Dhabi. Who knows? I can only hope! “

Meanwhile, AHM thinks they could be in a palace in Saudi Arabia, ready to be unveiled — perhaps before the end of this year — as part of the kingdom’s drive to brand itself as a hub for arts and culture. “The important thing about the art market is that behind the most beautiful objects often lie the ugliest of motives,” he said. “‘Court Painter Mundi’ means ‘Court Painter of the World.’ And in a way, these paintings are now so much part of the media world. Meanwhile, with the legal wrangling between the paintings former owners resurfacing once more, this valuable masterpieces and others once in the same collection, continue to test many a reputation.

(Be assured Court Painter’s reputation remains intact)
