these things happen all the time…

Court Painter welcomes many visitors to his studio and recently a writer from New York dropped in…a Ms. Fran Lebowitz who is known for her love of travel not, occasionally listening intently to other’s opinions, not leaving her apartment, partaking of an occasional smoke and eyeballing the visual arts. She asked and was granted her wish to view the many paintings from the studio storage racks and picked her favourite.

Court Painter’s “Self portrait in frame with standing self portrait‘ was chosen and is also a favourite of Court Painter’s because it features as the main subject …wait for it…Court Painter!

The Homelessness Industry is booming, and there’s big money in it

Composite of tents & City Hall

Excerpted from the article

‘In record numbers, people can’t find a place to live. But the homelessness industry is booming.

By the “homelessness industry” I mean the army of non-profits, consultants, data collectors, government bureaucrats, policy wonks, and academics whose stated goal is to “end homelessness” but who have utterly failed. And the more the homelessness industry fails, the more it succeeds. There’s big money to be made by failing to end homelessness.

But instead of the straightforward solution of building some damn housing, we’ve built this Rube Goldberg machine of market incentives, tax rebates, grants to non-profits, means testing, bonus density, ever-shifting definitions of “affordable housing” that time out after a couple of decades in any event, and a caring industry created to address the result and not the cause.

Focusing on the Rube Goldberg machinations of the homelessness industry instead of on just building some damn housing already is exactly the distracting rhetoric needed to prevent the government from spending the substantial amount of real money to honestly address the housing shortage.’

The Mothertucker…how soon we forget…

So an American media stupor star and political influencer will visit the Great Dominion for lunch (Calgary to be precise on January 26/24) ,and in attendance will be the darling of the international right, Alberta Premier Danielle Smith .

Court Painter reminds everyone in this excitement, that Mothertucker Carlson  a vocal supporter of last year’s “Freedom Convoy” movement and a white nationalist suggested invading the Great Dominion to liberate it from the democratically elected MP Justin Trudeau who also happens to be prime minister selected by the ruling Liberal Party.(it’s the Canadian way)

Anyway morbidly rich fanboy of Premier Smith, W Brett Wilson will have a Q & A with the Mothertucker after his remarks and is expected to wet his pants during the discussion.

Premier Danielle Smith will then have her Q & A with the Mothertucker and anticipation is running high that these two 21 century stale breath of air heads , will reveal wondrous plans to liberate the Great Dominion from you know who!

Tucker Carlson Calls For USA to Invade Canada: ‘Why Don’t We Liberate It?’

By Aidan McLaughlin Jan 27th, 2023, 10:17 am   MEDIAite

Fox News host Tucker Carlson called on the United States to invade Canada in baffling comments during an interview Thursday.

In an interview with Hillsdale College professor David Azerrad, a Canadian, Carlson brought up the “authoritarian government” of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and its response to the 2022 trucker protest in which opponents of vaccine mandates blockaded the streets of Ottawa.

“I’m completely in favor of a Bay of Pigs operation to liberate that country,” Carlson said. “Why should we stand back and let our biggest trading partner, the country with which we share the longest border — and actually, I’ll just say, a great country, I love Canada, I’ve always loved Canada because of its natural beauty — why should we let it become Cuba?”

He proposed that the invasion of Canada would be a better use of America’s military might than supporting Ukraine in its fight against the Russian invasion.

“Why don’t we liberate it?” Carlson asked. “We’re spending all this money to liberate Ukraine from the Russians, why are we not sending an armed force north to liberate Canada from Trudeau?”

If you thought Carlson was joking, think again. At the end of his proposal, he added: “And, I mean it.”

A family that grifts together may drift asunder…

NBC News source October 31/2023

Donald Trump’s sons are taking center stage at the $250 million civil fraud trial against the Trump family and their company in New York this week, with Donald Trump Jr. taking the stand Wednesday.

The oldest son of the former president is expected to be grilled by lawyers from state Attorney General Letitia James’ office about his involvement in and knowledge of financial statements the attorney general alleges were grossly inflated.

He’ll be followed by his brother Eric Trump, who is expected to testify late Wednesday or Thursday, with their father, the former president, taking the stand on Monday. His testimony will be followed by his daughter Ivanka Trump’s.

Court Painter was commissioned to create images that reflect a close family in unscripted moments.

A wee background from September 21/22

NEW YORK (AP) — New York’s attorney general sued former President Donald Trump and his company for fraud on Wednesday, alleging they padded his net worth by billions of dollars by lying about the value of prized assets including golf courses, hotels and his homes at Trump Tower and Mar-a-Lago.

Attorney General Letitia James dubbed it: “The art of the steal.”

James’ lawsuit, filed in state court in New York, is the culmination of a three-year civil investigation of Trump and the Trump Organization. Trump’s three eldest children, Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric Trump, were also named as defendants, along with two longtime company executives, Allen Weisselberg and Jeffrey McConney.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The WARBUCKS Institute for Unrestrained Profit: Establishes the Warbucks Foundation to Launch The Apocalypse Prosperity & Perpetual Grief Museum

The WARBUCKS Institute for Unrestrained Profit is pleased to announce the establishment of the Warbucks Foundation, a philanthropic initiative aimed at creating, guiding, and funding The Apocalypse Prosperity & Perpetual Grief Museum. This exciting development is a significant step towards recognizing the impact of war and conflict on our global society, highlighting the human stories behind these events and paying homage to the relentless efforts of those involved in the war industry, their political sponsors and media in maintaining the fog of war .

From personal collection of Warbucks Foundation founder

The Warbucks Foundation’s mission aligns with the growing interest of voracious venture capitalists seeking innovative opportunities, as it embraces a broad and expansive horizon. The Museum’s content, which is in a constant state of growth, reflects the increasing demand for new exhibition galleries to showcase the pictorial richness and positive human interest stories that arise from war and conflict.

Architectural concepts have been rendered with competing visions …traditional as a reminder of the blood & treasure of the past …contemporary to honour the bright future for more blood & treasure

Court Painter with rendering of the contemporary concept

Court Painter with rendering of the traditional concept

The concepts have cleverly incorporated onto the museum facade an aerial view of the destruction unleashed upon an urban location. Both bold statements intended to catch the visitors attention.

The institution’s mandate has a genuinely international scope, recognizing the tireless efforts of the global war industry and politicians to “keep the war-fires burning.” The Apocalypse Prosperity & Perpetual Grief Museum strives to illuminate the multifaceted dimensions of war, offering a thorough and reflective examination of its influence on society. This impact is particularly evident in the context of profit-driven capitalism, which perpetuates pork-barrel employment and will be featured in a special gallery display under the heading Jobs Jobs Jobs. The museum provides a family-friendly and safe environment for this exploration.

The Warbucks Foundation believes that the museum will become a global hub for understanding the multifaceted dimensions of the fog of war, from the economic, technological and political implications to the profound human experiences it engenders. Through the establishment of this museum, the foundation aims to promote a hazy understanding of war’s consequences, and pictorial dramatics and foster dialogue on creating more opportunities for conflicts that could escalate to full blown profit driven enterprises, propped up by the fog of war.

The WARBUCKS Institute for Unrestrained Profit is committed to this ambitious endeavor, and it anticipates the Warbucks Foundation and The Apocalypse Prosperity & Perpetual Grief Museum to play a pivotal role in advancing purely idealogical discussions in support of the war growth industry.

AND THIS…

Source: Forbes,Oct 6/23

The United States is the biggest source of global military sales, and its share of the market is growing. The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute reported earlier this year that the U.S. generated 40% of all arms exports during the period 2018-2022, compared with 33% during 2013-2017.

During the same span of time, SIPRI says that Russia’s arms exports shrank 31% and China’s fell 23%. The other big gainers besides America were France (up 44%), Italy (up 45%), and South Korea (up 74%).

Comparing the five-year period ending in 2022 with the earlier period, SIPRI calculates U.S. arms exports increased 14%, but the scale of U.S. sales dwarfs that of other countries. France, the third biggest exporter of arms after America and Russia, even with its recent gains, only claims 11% of the global market.

U.S. dominance of the arms trade is no surprise: its 40% market share corresponds with America’s 39% share of all global military spending. China, often described as the pacing threat in Pentagon strategic pronouncements, only represents 13% of world military expenditures.

The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) data shows that the USA and other leading democracies have transferred substantial volumes of arms to autocratic states in recent years. Claims that the USA and its allies are the defenders of democracy in a fundamental struggle about ‘the future and direction of our world ‘ still run up against reality: these same countries continue to arm a majority of the world’s autocracies.

The SIPRI Arms Transfers database compiles data on imports and exports of major arms. According to the database, the USA, France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, Spain, South Korea and Israel were the top eight arms-exporting democracies in 2018–22. Along with Russia (ranked second) and China (ranked fourth), they also comprise the top 10 exporters for the period.

None of the eight democracies under consideration has made any public commitment to condition arms exports based on the civil and political rights records of recipient states or on their political regime type.

how do you like them apples?…

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre picked up some name recognition south of the border this week after a video of him chomping down on an apple while chiding a local journalist went viral.

While the video has attracted both praise and criticism online, ultimately it’s a win politically, said Alex Marland, a professor at Acadia University and author of the book Whipped: Party Discipline in Canada.

“This is worth lots of money in marketing dollars. Because it’s earned media. So it’s reaching a lot of people,” he said.

Not to be outdone,Court Painter introduced Pierre into the world of art & apples.

an apple tale…

Court Painter commissioned ghost writer Chatterley Gorgonzola Philabuster Tipperary (ChatGPT) to elaborate on a news item that is receiving international attention.

Once upon a time in the Great Dominion and in the hallowed halls of political power, there lived a Prime Minister named Justin, a man known far and wide for his eloquence and charm. He ruled the land with a firm hand and a generous heart, and his magnanimous spirit was renowned throughout the kingdom with the notable exceptions of Alberta,Saskatchewan and…well let’s not get into that…

In the same kingdom, there dwelled a man named Pierre, a staunch opponent of Prime Minister Justin. Pierre had long harbored dreams of ascending to the highest office in the land, of becoming the Prime Minister himself. He was a man of ambition and eloquence, much like his political rival.

One bright and sunny day, as the warm rays of the sun bathed the orchards in their golden light, Prime Minister Justin approached Pierre with a gleam in his eye. In his hand, he held a plump and glistening apple, its crimson skin shining like a jewel. With a flourish, he presented the apple to Pierre.

“This, my dear Pierre,” said Justin in a tone as sweet as honey, “is no ordinary apple. It is a magic apple, a fruit that can grant wishes. And I, in the spirit of unity and goodwill, offer it to you.”

Pierre, taken aback by this unexpected act of generosity, considered the apple with a mix of curiosity and skepticism. He longed for political victory, to become the Prime Minister, and the apple’s promise of granting wishes stirred his heart.

With a wry smile, Justin urged, “Make a wish, dear Pierre, for a happy election result, and then, and only then, partake of this enchanted fruit.”

After much pondering and a fair amount of consideration, Pierre finally consented. He held the apple high and, with a wishful heart, whispered his deepest desire for electoral success.

As he took a bite, a strange sensation of muteness overcame him, and his body slumped to the orchard ground. The onlookers gasped, and the Prime Minister himself believed that Pierre had fallen into speechless wonder due to the magic of the tampered apple. Concerned, his fellow MP’s gathered around Pierre and, with great effort, carried him to the hallowed House of Commons. It was a heavy burden, for Pierre’s body had grown strangely inert, his tongue mute and his face ashen.

As they jostled and stumbled while bearing him into the grand chamber of the House of Commons, the bite of the enchanted apple dislodged from Pierre’s throat. It tumbled to the floor and spattered, releasing the mysterious potion it contained.

Pierre, who had appeared utterly silenced, suddenly began to stir. He awoke in a mood best described as petulant, his demeanour reflecting neither gratitude nor goodwill nor the effects of the dastardly plan to mute his partisan exuberance!

And so, the kingdom of the Great Dominion watched with some perplexity as the dramatic events unfolded, although well able to fathom the peculiar shenanigans that had befallen Pierre.

There was no moral to this limp tale other than politics as usual, and it lives as a curious anecdote found in the annals of the internet, nestled under the label of “miscellaneous apple tales.” It will remain an enigmatic chapter in the political chronicles of the Great Dominion, a whimsical turn of events that went viral.

How about some good news…
