MAGA expansionism has become a defining feature of contemporary U.S. internal and external policy, rooted in the belief that the “Make America Great Again”(MAGA) movement holds a unique role and responsibility to reshape the world according to its autocratic vision.
This modern iteration, which adherents have dubbed “MAGAfest Destiny,” is marked by a focus on promoting kleptocratic governance, leveraging economic advantage through financial and military threats, asserting technological dominance, fostering global instability, advancing Christian white nationalist ideals, and embracing a stance of humanitarian non-intervention by withdrawal of monetary and moral support,at home and abroad.
Critics argue that this approach risks significant overreach and unintended consequences, undermining global stability and democratic norms. However, its leader and entertainer, Donald J. Trump, and supporters view it as a necessary and assertive form of Big Boss leadership in a complex and interconnected world—one that they see as ripe for financial exploitation,ideological dominance and realignment in favour of American morbidly rich priorities.
This MAGA ideology prioritizes unilateralism, autocratic governance, kleptocratic principles,ideological purity and the consolidation of power : at the expense of American democracy , international cooperation, long-term global equity and stability.
