I am worthy

A Court Painter focus group composed of Press Attache AHM, an Uber chauffeur,a member of the Canadian Energy Centre and 5 unpaid studio interns have unanimously recommended nominating Court Painter’s face as worthy to be on the new Bank of Canada $5 bill.

Court Painter in an emotional statement whispered, ” In all modesty I am worthy”.

Court Painter in characteristic self interest said,”Busy as I am, I will help with this effort in any way I can.” offering a number of versions of his handsome visage for the central bank’s consideration ( postage paid).

The Future as Another Slogan

During the festive holiday season and much to the chagrin of his Press Attache and business manager AHM; Court Painter with too much time on his hands,  repurposed his state of the art north lit portrait studio into a silk screen shop to produce a line of messaged T-shirts based on the theme of…wait for it..Surveillance Capitalism!

Where the hell is the market for obscure surveillance ironies on T shirts for goodness sake when Facebook spielmeister Mark Zuckerberg just pronounced “The Future is Private” as a slogan for our future.

(This appears to be a slogan replacement for “Move Fast,Break Things”,  since that visionary business plan of Mr. Z. has already taken a digital hammer to breaking democratic values in quick time!)

Court Painter stubbornly refused to discuss his newly hatched market product and slammed the studio door!

Anyway…he distributed samples of the product modelled by Mr. Eye Candy himself!

It is not hard to see the appeal of the instrument in the hands of Court Painter. Light and portable, a harmonizing instrument ;easy to maintain and soothing to his many celebrity visitors.

The lute he finds enormously versatile, using it as a break from his onerous painting schedule to play interlude dance music… interlude popular tunes… interlude arrangements of rap music and interlude song accompaniments that he hums lustily … and interlude passemezzi (a sort of Renaissance twelve-bar blues) he loves to belt out after a few shots of courage at the Ship & Anchor… often ending an evening plucking and riffing on “musical interludes of the most refined and expressive fantasias that haunt Court Painter’s imagined reveries and opium dreams.” (Accompanying images are not meant to illustrate opium dreams however the monotone prints are intended to transport the viewer to an experience of 17th century reality before colour)
