An unidentified spokesperson for Halifax Tourism indicated that extensive research has determined this architectural style is guaranteed to be a magnet for aimless tourists who wander off the many cruise shops that moor at Pier 21.<\/nav>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article__loader\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"small-12 inset columns\">\n<div class=\"article__body clearfix article-story-body\">\n<div class=\"trackContent-0\">\n<p>So, Halifax\u2019s famous town clock is punching out for a few months while renovation crews transform the Citadel Hill landmark into a pagoda like architectural statement.(see Court Painter&#8217;s recent painting)<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8290 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/allanhardingmackay.ca\/courtpainter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/After-Before.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"425\" srcset=\"https:\/\/allanhardingmackay.ca\/courtpainter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/After-Before.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/allanhardingmackay.ca\/courtpainter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/After-Before-300x128.jpg 300w, https:\/\/allanhardingmackay.ca\/courtpainter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/After-Before-768x326.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 1362px) 62vw, 840px\" \/><em>After &amp; Before<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"hero blur_effect\">The original historic clock tower is tiered like a cake. A rectangular slab at the base supports three octagonal levels decorated with detailed trim and Greek columns, topped with a copper dome.
