It is now possible to alter reality and every kind of historical record\u2014and perhaps irrevocably. The technology for creating fake audio, video, and text has improved enormously in just the last few months. We will soon reach\u2014or may have already reached\u2014a tipping point where it\u2019s impossible to tell the difference between truth and deception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are already starting to see warning signs. But the worst is yet to come. And it\u2019s coming quickly\u2014the technology for fakery and deception gets better each month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And the budget for truth and reality is tiny\u2014compared to the trillions of dollars budgeted for fakery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The collapse of reality is accelerating so quickly that even political and business leaders will soon start noticing\u2014and (maybe, just maybe) start acting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next BIG thing in tech just might be fixing the mess created by the current BIG thing in tech.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
