The leaders of Canada, the United Kingdom and France are condemning Israel’s expansion of military operations and actions in Gaza and the West Bank, threatening in a joint statement Monday to take concrete actions, including sanctions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The statement called Sunday’s announcement that Israel will allow a basic quantity of food into Gaza “wholly inadequate” and said the level of human suffering is “intolerable.”<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We will not stand by while the Netanyahu government pursues these egregious actions,” the statement said. “If Israel does not cease the renewed military offensive and lift its restrictions on humanitarian aid, we will take further concrete actions in response.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The statement said the three countries have always supported Israel’s right to defend itself against terrorism but called the escalation disproportionate<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At least 53,573 Palestinians have been killed and 121,688 wounded since the start of the war, according to Gaza\u2019s Ministry of Health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Israeli army said on Tuesday afternoon that it attacked 100 targets in Gaza in the preceding 24 hours, claiming they were all \u201cterrorist\u201d targets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the Israeli military and government continue to promise to \u201cdefeat\u201d Hamas, devastating military strikes on the Palestinian territory have intensified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
