Fox News host Tucker Carlson<\/strong> called on the United States to invade Canada in baffling comments during an interview Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an interview with Hillsdale College professor David Azerrad, a Canadian, Carlson brought up the \u201cauthoritarian government\u201d of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and its response to the 2022 trucker protest in which opponents of vaccine mandates blockaded the streets of Ottawa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m completely in favor of a Bay of Pigs operation to liberate that country,\u201d Carlson said. \u201cWhy should we stand back and let our biggest trading partner, the country with which we share the longest border \u2014 and actually, I\u2019ll just say, a great country, I love Canada, I\u2019ve always loved Canada because of its natural beauty \u2014 why should we let it become Cuba?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He proposed that the invasion of Canada would be a better use of America\u2019s military might than supporting Ukraine in its fight against the Russian invasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhy don\u2019t we liberate it?\u201d Carlson asked. \u201cWe\u2019re spending all this money to liberate Ukraine from the Russians, why are we not sending an armed force north to liberate Canada from Trudeau?\u201d<\/a><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you thought Carlson was joking, think again. At the end of his proposal, he added: \u201cAnd, I mean it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
