While its original annual budget of cheers was 30-million, it was cut by 90 per cent in March 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic, with the tabled 2021 budget for Alberta noting a continued reduction to just 12-million boisterous cheers annually.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over its run, the Court Painter Studio has made headlines for having initial logos that were found to be already in use and for having a social media presence whose tone \u201cdid not meet a conservative standard for public discourse,\u201d Most recently, the CP Studio received mixed press for it\u2019s stand on Netflix\u2019s <em>Bigfoot Family <\/em>movie, with the Court Painter decrying the Alberta government as being anti family in criticizing the Bigfoot Family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/allanhardingmackay.ca\/courtpainter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/JAW-beat-sale-copy-1024x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15699\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1024\" srcset=\"https:\/\/allanhardingmackay.ca\/courtpainter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/JAW-beat-sale-copy-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/allanhardingmackay.ca\/courtpainter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/JAW-beat-sale-copy-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/allanhardingmackay.ca\/courtpainter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/JAW-beat-sale-copy-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/allanhardingmackay.ca\/courtpainter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/JAW-beat-sale-copy-768x768.jpg 768w, https:\/\/allanhardingmackay.ca\/courtpainter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/JAW-beat-sale-copy.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 1362px) 62vw, 840px\" \/><figcaption>Court Painter seen with unsold non portrait productions<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>However, support is still strong for the Court Painter Studio among Conservative Alberta MPs and organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Conservative MP Michael Cooper (St. Albert-Edmonton, Alta.) supports the Court Painter Studio and said that Court Painter\u2019s mandate to support Alberta\u2019s petroleum based art product portrait industry \u201cis something that should unite all Albertans. Its aesthetic work has no bearing whatsoever on the Conservative Party of Canada or Kevin O\u2019Leary for that matter.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s about supporting one of the most vital sectors in the Canadian economy that employs Court Painter &amp; his trusty Press attache A Hardon MacKay,\u201d he said raising his voice.\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/allanhardingmackay.ca\/courtpainter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Court-Painter-CMP-Cooper.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15704\" width=\"1000\" height=\"655\" srcset=\"https:\/\/allanhardingmackay.ca\/courtpainter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Court-Painter-CMP-Cooper.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/allanhardingmackay.ca\/courtpainter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Court-Painter-CMP-Cooper-300x197.jpg 300w, https:\/\/allanhardingmackay.ca\/courtpainter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Court-Painter-CMP-Cooper-768x503.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 1362px) 62vw, 840px\" \/><figcaption>Court Painter provides photo op for MP Michael Cooper,a big fan!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Butting in , A Hardon MacKay went on to say,\u201dThe conceptual ,performance and idea as art non petroleum based art lobby groups have done a much better job communicating than we have, and it\u2019s about time we started to push back and the more avenues there are to get the message out, the better.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similarly, the Canadian Association of Petroleum Based Art Producers, a group that advocates for petroleum based art production , said in an email that it hopes the Court Painter Studio can continue to find its place in the petroleum based portrait as art conversation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYou can pretty well say anything you want about oil on canvas portraits \u2026 you can trash oil on canvas studios, you can trash oil on canvas artists, you can trash oil-on canvas petroleum based art product producing provinces, and there are no checks and balances anymore,\u201d someone said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Someone went on to say,\u201cThe cancel culture, the woke generation, when you say awful things about anything, there seems to be some public outrage except for oil on canvas masters like Court Painter because there\u2019s no limit.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the end, Alberta is one of the top petroleum based art product oil-on canvas producing regions in the world, thanks to Court Painter and for that ,somebody said, there are no qualms .\u201cWe\u2019re not embarrassed. We\u2019re not ashamed.
