Both leaders agreed that with this kind of lizard branding of the merger of the two right of centre parties would be a shoo in with their base who are also largely bipedal and would warm to the nickname Lizards.
Both leaders appeared in Albertosaurus mascot costumes to emphasis the attractiveness of the Alberta lizard that they swore on a stack of Bibles became extinct about the same time Noah parked the ark. When questioned by a reporter that most scientists accept 70 million years ago as the extinction date ,both leaders piped up and indicated their base of voters should not be expected to conceptualize such a big number and preferred the Noah’s Ark story which is profusely illustrated and absent of big numbers.
After an intense competition between the two leaders to name the new party and mascot , the top dino was finally chosen.
The homegrown Albertosaurus defeated the iconic Tyrannosaurus Rex as the most popular dinosaur to represent the anticipated Wildrose /Conservative merger as a newly minted Albertosaurus Party.
“We think it says something patriotic about Jason and I that we would rally around Albertosaurus, the first dinosaur named after our province, home of the natural Right. I have to admit that I’m a little bit shocked that T-Rex didn’t come out on top, but this will definitely make more sense to our backward looking base,” Jean and Kenney said in a joint press release.
Kenny & Jean released the names of the other dinosaurs considered, indicating their decision was final and would represent the Alberosaurus Party well and it’s new motto “Always Look Back”.
